^^^Exactly^^^

Acura doesn't have anything to compete with the S class and BMW's 7 series or the Lexus LS series.
I think Acura is trying out this turbo thing and later down the line it will boost other vehicles. But right now, the only coupes acura produce are too cheap (RSX) or too expensive (NSX). They should have kept the CL.

Honda doesn't have to produce a big and powerful car, but something in the same class as the Maxima.

i think the problem is that the maxima sorta competes with the TL....pricewise.
nissan maxima w/nav: ~35k
TL w/nav:~36k
i mean the difference in price between a fully loaded v6 accord and the TL isnt that much anymore, there isnt room for another model in that 5k price difference. honda would end up competing against acura for the same segment. Nissan and toyota can put cars out in this price segment because lexus and infiniti's cars are more pricey. Once acura moves up to the infiniti/lexus price segment, then honda can put out some premium cars.

this is why the accord wont get HIDs for a while, they need to differentiate between the accord and the TL

I just built a 5 series BMW starting at MSRP $58k and its final price fully equiped was $80,512.

And I also did it on the RL MSRP $53K and its final price fully equiped was $60,343

Also take into consideration, you chose the the 550i. That's as close as possible to the bada$$ M5. THat's why it's so much

I was comparing the entry level 5 series which is the 528i

That's an excellent point.
Then Honda should do what other car manufactures are doing.
What ever is standard on their premium cars should be optional on their lower range cars.

I mean, most of the things that are standard on Lexus and Infiniti ars are also optional Toyota and Nissan cars.

Yep I know, but also take in consideration that I took the RL top of the line..
Anyways the Accesories that BMW offers are way more espensive that Acura + you pay a little extra for the badge.

they're alreayd doing it (kinda):

the ex v6 accord and the tsx are nearly the exact same price!

they don't directly compete (accord is bigger and more powerful, but the tsx is more luxurious and sporty), but with ex trim the accord could even be seen as the better value (but i still want a boosted tsx :D ).

RL doesnt compete with the 550, because the RL has the 3.5 V6, so it competes with the 530i or 525i (more specifically the 530xi). Acura doesnt have a V8 midsize sedan so the 550 is out of the acura scope.

Totally Agree with ya, but blacknite emphasized the 5 series in general.
