Tire size help!!

I have a 2002 accord ex sedan, and i recently bought the new GOLD XXR531's. the only problem is, i want to make sure what tire size i need so my wheels will fit. wheel size is 17x9.75+25, and im rocking FF TYPE 1 coilovers. i do know i need to roll and pull my fenders alot, and i did a little shaving for rear fenders as well. i have some pics for test fit i will post ASAP. i went to a few tire shops and they told me 235/40/17, and another shop told me 255/40/17 would be the best way to go, but im not sure. i just need some input please

sounds dope. thanks!! i have just one little worry now. I was wondering since i'll be ok with rolling and pulling fenders for fitment, im worried if the tires will rub against the inside or suspension of the car. think i should be ok?

Don't get a 40 series tire unless you're at least running 245 tires, it'll look retarded and it'll throw off your speedo.

If you are planning on stretching the tires get a 225/45/17 or so and roll/pull as needed. There's no right or wrong answer with wheel fitment. Decide what you want to run and make it work.

OP is looking for 17" tires.

18" size the sidewall down to 40.

19" size the sidewall down to 35.

The profile height is a percentage, so if you go wider the tire also gets taller. So that's why I said if you go to a 245 or so you should probably go down in height. I'm going to switch it up to 245/35/18 instead of a 235/40/18 next. 245/35/18 is barely in spec for us.

Ideally you want to stay within 3% of your factory wheel/tire specs. That way your speedometer will be correct/close to correct, and you will also not cause premature wear on other components. For instance, if you go too tall (over 3%) you run the risk of brake failure. 235/40/18 is a good size for the car but for the look I'm going for, I can get the similar look with 245/35/18. 235/35/18 would probably be a bit too small. Even 215/40/18 is a bit on the small side for our cars.
