Let me clear a few things up... the heads to the bolts are dome shaped there for nothing to hold onto as I take the nut off underneath the car. I was trying to avoided taking a grinder to the bolt heads, cause I don't own one. I kinda got the common sense end of it from the beginning, I just thought that someone else may have had a more constructive advice than trying to comment on my intelligence. But thank you all for at least visiting my thread I greatly appreciate your time and effort.

Those "dome shaped bolts" are called carriage bolts. Here is what you do:

1. Have someone hold the bolt heads with pliers or vise grips so it doesn't spin.
2. Unbolt
3. Done

That one step I added should ad a total of 1 minute to a 10 minute job.

This.

Shouldn't even need to hold the bolts, they have a square on them that fits into the square on whatever they're in so they don't spin when tightening.

I thought of that too, but sometimes when you loosen the nut the little square fitting can come dislodged from the hole, so when I undo these kind of bolts I usually stick a pair of vise grips on there just to prevent any frustration.

This is what I have been looking for. I was removing my cheap trailer hitches and I really got frustrated with the little square fitting. Anyways, I was able to remove it eventually.
