Transmission going?

So i think my transmission may finally be calling it quits.. My check engine light went on yesterday morning, and driving today i noticed when i am slowing down or moving around slowly, my car will just start shaking/vibrating, almost as if i was pressing in the clutch to the grip point, except my accord is auto..

Opinions? Wasn't there a recall on the 6th gen accord's transmissions because alot of them were blowing?

Find out what the check engine light is telling you. Just because your car is acting up doesn't mean that your transmission is exactly dying. Is your D4 or whatever gear light blinking? The vibrations could be coming from a dirty IACV or your main relay could be failing. The recall for the transmissions I believe were for cars that are under 100k.

D4 light isn't blinking so i suppose that's a good sign, i'm taking it to my dads shop saturday to have it checked for codes, just trying to figure it out before then i have no idea what the IACV or the main relay is to be honest, don't know the engine that well just yet, and my car definitely isn't covered for the recall lol, just passed 145k



turns out the vin is covered under the settlement, hmm i wonder if i could get a new transmission

How do you find out if your transmission has already been replaced under this recall?

A transmission going bad won't give you a check engine light, as someone else said the only literal indicator is a blinking D4 light. Other than that you can only feel it slipping and that is how you know.

Find out what code is being thrown from the CEL, maybe it's the cause of your car acting up at low speeds. Also search "transmission", it has been discussed.

You're way past the miles in trans extended warranty, but wouldn't hurt to ask. If the dealer doesn't help call Honda Corp and ask for at least partial assistance.

If you know the location the car was operated in you could call the dealer's in the area. With your VIN they should be able to tell you. Also, Honda installed an inline filter on the trans cooler return line (near the radiator) when they put in reman transmissions. If you have one your trans was probably dealer replaced.

Sounds like a bad rear motor mount to be honest, not a tranny issue.

the check engine light has nothing to do with your tranny going bad... find out what that light is first. could be something as simple as an o2 sensor.
