Hey I was wondering, If you turbo'd the auto tranny on a 6th gen, could u just shift up and down with the auto tranny using the 1/2/3D/4D gears? To save the hassle of doing a 5 speed swap? Anybody have any thoughts on this?

it would just fail your tranny that much sooner
either stay auto and drive turbo'd normal
or 5 spd swap
either stay auto and drive turbo'd normal
or 5 spd swap

Do the 5-speed swap first and then go turbo route.

Do not shift up and down gears that destroys the transmission (for those of you who wait to jump on to people... I know it says in the manual to shift up and down when in heavy snow etc so shh.. and you know who you are.)
If you turbo the Auto it will either run perfectly fine like very few other turbo auto 6th gens (most fail) or it will just destroy the clutch packs even quicker and you will have to do a rebuild / swap
So my advice is:
A. Do a 5spd / 6spd swap depending on I4/v6 and then turbo charge your car.
B. If you are unable to do that then leave your car Naturally Aspirated.
C. If you are trying to cut corners now, your forced induced build will be **** and you should just leave the car stock.
D. If you are cussing me and mocking me right now stating to yourself "I'm going to build a damn Turbo car so F U asshole! THEN AT LEAST please invest in a transmission cooler - which you can make yourself very easily.
Please go research some more before starting threads like this. This topic has been covered 1000's of times and it is always full of Fail.

Yes u can shift using 1,2,3d,4d..but will not last. Best to swap 5spd or sell that car and get a 5spd. That way you dont have to spend money on the 5spd MT swap.

LMAO this is the guy with the Supercharged Jaguar that he got from his parents. Why on earth would you ever think about turbocharging the accord when you have a car STOCK that is already so much fun to drive!!
