Vtec help

Does anyone else have their vtec kick in at 3500, top out at 125 and have no power in 5th gear or did the guy who owned it before me screw it up?

vtec anywhere from 2700+, its for economy, not power
ive never topped my car out
car loses all power in 3rd for me

Well vtec kicks in pretty early, anywhere between 2500 and 4000 rpm depending on speed & charge.

What do you mean by 125...? mph? If yes, slow down.

And yeah lol... there is not much power when you're in 5th gear.

my car tops out at 125mph unless im going downhill lol then i've gotten to 133 then i caught up to traffic

ive never bothered trying to top it out, its dangerous, a waste of gas, not good for a 120k+mile engine, and the car is slow anyway

just trying to make it look pretty

its not a waste of gas for my car. I went on a 5hr trip going 110 most of the way and still averaged 30mpg, no idea how other than maybe cuz it was flat the whole way

i'm sorry, but no, you didn't. your speedometer must be ****ed up then. plus its damn near impossible (at least around here) to go 45 minutes without seeing a cop on the highway. fastest i drive is 80

im in NV not alot of cops anymore due to budget cuts. it was an odd day too, mid week about 500miles from my place to my grandparents and not one cop. it was weird. And my speedometer is good.

.....irresponsible driving does not belong here, but these cars are slow don't expect much from it or get your hopes up HAHA, and Vtec????? hahah

i rarely drive over 75, it was just alot of open empty road that day
