I have an 02 accord ex 2.3. New spool valve, plugs wires, distributor, fresh oil change... vtec kicks in when cool, but then after about 30 mins of driving, will not rev over 4500 rpms... any thoughts? Someone said maybe valve adjustment? Had the head rebuilt about 50,000 ago....

Probably it could be solenoids. Did you recall the steps you took to rebuild it, which would have resulted in this?

Not going over 4500 rpm seems like an ecu problem. Even without vtec the engine should still climb in RPMs

    Recheck all connections
