Not worth it. It's honestly fine without an oil change for that long but they you have to think, what else didn't he do that he should. Plus the timing belt seeming suspect. It's a civic, just find another one.

Well. I'm not buying the car. So I did not pay anything for it.
But the KBB value is about 5.5k.

I didn't mean any offense by my statement.
FYI: in December of 2006, I paid $5500 for my 2000 LX with 104k on it. I don't see how KBB is that high for a civic. Especially now that it is 8 years old and has 110k on it.

Tell to offer $2400 for the car.

KBB might list a retail of $5,500, but that will be on a well maintained car that's in excellent condition.
If you type in that the car has mechanical problems (which I'm sure it has)
that will bring the value way down

also i was thinking...what if the noise is a wrist pin or something coming loose in the motor....and they know this....and are telling you they didn't change the oil in a while to make it so that when you buy it and it seizes up in a few months they can say..."well i told you i hadn't changed the oil...its not my fault".....i think the oil change thing isn't the whole truth....no one would say that unless they knew something else was wrong with the car thats worse....

No. They guy who had the car is just stupid.

I don't think that he will go for 2500 offer either.
And my friend won't want to deal repairing it.

I know it's just a Civic.
But you know how people get desperate when they are looking for a car.
So I thought I should put other people's weight behind my negative coments
on this particular car.
