And no, IMO $150-$250 short ram intake isnt worth it.

I have an eBay $40 intake with a K&N filter. $90 all together. You can definitely feel an increase in throttle response especially around 3k. I would never pay more than $100 for an intake though.

Pretty much what A-cord83 did, it's more worth it to get ebay (or AutoZone) piping and use a good quality filter.
