I recently purchased Brembo replacement pads and rotors and they have been on for 4 months. After a while they have been getting noisier and a lot of brake dust. I heard that ceramic pads are a lot better in less brake dust, stop a lot better and less noise. Other people tell me that the stock ones are better and make less noise. If anyone knows or has opinions let me know Thanks

well ive heard differnt things from different people but the majority seem to say that ceramic pads defienatly decrease dust, and although they do make noise its minimal, but i recently had a brake job done at a honda dealership( i know they did overcharge, what do u expect its honda) but i really dont trust anyone else, and my brakes are doing fine, no noise, some dust and great stopping power.

i put ceramic pads on and there deffinitly cleaner, i dont notice a difference in noise(i dont think either make noise) and they break a little bit better, not that they have more breaking power its just that its a more even flow from pedal to caliper imo.

I've had metal masters and tehy squealed all the time, didn't last too long either. Tried Axxiss ultimates with simialr results, maybe a little quieter. Then tried AEM pads with pretty similar results again. So I went back to stock cause the squealing was driving me nuts...

be like it is
ceramics are dirtier than almost anything...if you get some upgrades like ebc or something, then those are worse.

just get stock ones :147703263745b138a51

My experience with any brake pads around $50 are basically the same as stock. I defineatly won't shell out money for oem brakes ever. I'd say i've done about 7 brake jobs on my cars and used oem on one car, wasn't worth it. Autozone/Kragains/etc will be fine. Just don't buy the really cheap stuff. I found that some have less dust, but usually not to the point where it's a big advantage. My oem honda bads seem really dusty though, only on this car, not other hondas. Anyway, i'm talking about oem replacement stuff, not performance type pads.

i have had many brake pads since I've done my drum to disc conversion...my first set was nissin japan oem pads, 2nd was EBC green stuff, 3rd Hawk...out of the three i would have to say that the nissin japan oem worked the best...they hardly had brake dust, they were less noisy, and they had comparable stopping power...I will never use another brake pad on my accord again...these pads can be found at www.racepages.com

I recently bought Akabono ceramic pads off tirerack. They are rated very well in every area. I am going to get slotted/drilled rotors along with them. Hopefully it will be good stopping power and a lot less dust then I get now.
