Why doesn't V6 engines have DOHC?

also think of it this way....you have a set number of valves to operate for each piston....if there is enough room on one cam to operate 3 cylinders...why would we need 2 cams per head....to me it's less efficient and more moving parts....

my VQ35HR is a DOHC V6.. the newer 350Z's have the same engines

Why doesn't Honda produce and DOHC V6 motors other than the NSX

Remember, Honda still lives by their motto when they first introduced VTEC:
Produce a car that gets good low RPM gas mileage and good high RPM performance.

To have independently variable valve timing. That's why Nissan and Toyota (iirc: new camry V6 is DOHC) do it.

cheaper to make? and cheaper for the consumer to get repaired. customer isnt WOWed by the high fix prices.



i dont it should really matter as long as its timmed properly.




out of the blue but does the newer J series have direct injection?
