It depends what the shops carry.
The shop I went to carries 50,30,15, and 5.

However they can get anything I ask for cause I have a friend that works there. 3M brand has a line of tints that consists of wierd numbers as well like 22% and 27%

ive got 20% all around on the accord and 5% on the back and 20% on the front of the 07 Mustang. the accord is fine, and in the mustang you dont need to see anything behind you any damn way

I have 20% all the way around and while I love the privacy, it can be difficult to see behind me when reversing at night. If you have strict law enforcement and tight laws requiring inspections then I would highly advise you to go legal. It would be much more bennificial to your wallet if you do.

I believe the darker the tint the more heat it keeps out. Higher quality tint will last longer, less reflection, stay darker, better UV protection, keeps heat out etc etc. If your really concerned about heat I suggest getting a heat barrier for your roof at least. The last tip I will give you is to find a really good installer. Sloppy jobs result in ruined rear window antenna/defroster, soap water all over, bubbling/peeling and the list goes on. A good installer makes a world of difference, even with cheap tint. They should take off your old tint correctly (safely), remove the door panels, have perfect cuts around the window bezel, wipe off excess soap water and dry the tint so you can roll down your windows the moment they are done.
:ohsnap:Hope you got all that lol.

yea, id say 30% or 35% would be good enough for you. ive always went as dark as possible, haha. i had 20% on the front and 5% on the rear of my gti...and on my old accord, i had 2.5% on just the rear. i could see fine at night out of the back of both of them, all these people who cant see at night should get some glasses or some ****, hahaha.

I really like 20% but Northern Colorado has too many cops just looking for **** to do so I'm gonna play it safe. But when I'm loaded driving an NSX down the road one day with 5% all around I'll gladly get pulled over and slice happy faces into my tint while I tell the officer next time it'll be darker. haha. :buttkick:
