VP should stand for Value Package. Usually the model with the least power option is classified as VP.

Lol. Makes me wonder why I only paid 1K over kelly blue book for my GTO. It was their personal car though. I have a three month warranty so I'm crossing my fingers. It was the only gto I found in louisiana and priced better than many others so I jumped on it.
