Xenon reverse lamps

I seen these on a brand spanking new Cadillac today and they were BRIGHT as hell..lit up the whole parking garage. It had to be stock because the dude was about 90 years old..Anyone ever looked into or thought about doing this? I tried to get a look at the bulb type through the lens when he stuck it in drive and it looked like a basic wedge type..

arent they just LEDs? having a ballast for each side would be a waste and expennnnnsive for GM.

I don't know..it really didn't look like LED's to me. It had one light source and it was realllly bright..this was mid day and it light up on the cement and the retaining wall behind him. You'd figure for it to be that bright it would have to be several LED's or high wattage LED's

I dont think GM would stick HID lights in the rear, jsut a waste of money, but then again Lexus made a car that parks itself, so you never know

My buddy has an evo that he retroed projectors into his tail lights for when he backs up and it was REALLY bright lol

They're LED's durrie. My friend has a Cadillac DTS and I inspected them and yeah they're LEDs.
