The bunk oil pan does have bumps on the contact surface, into which an oil pan gasket fits. When I took my stock oil pan off, there was lots of Hondabond, but no gasket present. Also no bumps as you had mentioned. Very strange that they would have these variations, seeing as the oil pan is basically the life or death of your car.. There should be no chance taken of it leaking due to improper fitment, or different installation materials/method.

I never used a gasket when I installed my oil pan. I just used red rvt silicon. I returned my oil my pan to the ebay buyer, and notified them that it did not fit.

You think the seller would take it back if it's tapped and welded with a bung though? I mean for me personally it has caused outrageous problems.. But I don't know if that will mean anything to the seller.

I'm pretty sure the manufacturer is the eBay seller as well.. Deutsche Parts USA, based out of New York, but import stuff from Germany.
