I thought we were supposed to wait for a letter ?

You don't have to wait. Go to Honda's ownerlink website and enter your VIN. It will tell you if you need to bring it in.

I think that's the old one that only covered the 01's. There is a newer one that added the 02's.

Why is everyone so quick to knock Honda on this? Did anyone care to think that it comes up 7 years later because it hasn't been an issue before that?

There was a similar recall in Nov. '08 that only affected 3,940 6th gen Accords, this one is likely similar after finding that the same air bag manufacturer sent out some defective airbag modules. I'd be willing to bet that manufacturer is catching a lot of heat from Honda at the moment. My guess is that this is a voluntary recall, not ordered by the NHTSA-ODI, since the failure rate is so low. Because it's safety related it has to be recalled, even if it's not an actual design flaw and just happened by chance.

So, just a friendly reminder to check the facts before you get all worked up.

And the 2 recalls:

Potential Number of Units Affected: 3940

Well, I just made an appointment with my local Honda dealer. They said they're going to order the airbag and ignition parts so that if my car does have those problems, they could just replace it right there on the spot. I wonder if they'll replace my Cruise Control Bulb for free if I ask them :p . My car does need to get washed so I'm hoping they'll wash it for me free of charge :) .
