I thought Honda's auto woes were fixed after 2003, but I may be wrong.

The auto should bolt up, they and the 6MT's are bolted to the same J30's to my knowledge. But the wiring is more complicated. For anyone wanting to swap to another J w/auto, I'd talk to Wheeelman.

I recal reading, I think on here even, that the 04-05's still had some issues as well.

Not to the extent that the CG's had though.

2004 Honda Transmission Recall
In 2004, Honda finally admitted to the problem with their 600,000 vehicle recall. Honda decided to recall the transmissions, at an estimated cost of $153 million to the company, after finding “10 transmission failures” according to Honda spokesman Chuck Schifsky. We're not sure where Mr. Schifsky is getting his information, because we've seen hundreds and hundreds of owner complaints. Honda later expanded the recall to include nearly 1.1 million vehicles.

Honda Accord Transmission
The models covered were the 2002-4 Odyssey; the 2003–4 Pilot; the 2001–2 Acura MDX; the 2003–4 Accord V-6; the 2000–4 Acura 3.2 TL and the 2001–3 Acura 3.2 CL.

Almost any and every Honda/Acura AT from 98-03 was in trouble. Some managed to sneak into 04 and MAYBE into 05 but, for the most part, 0405 were ok. Obviously, the newer, the better.

I dont recall exact conversations or what the verdict was, and Chris you may be able to back me up here, but I recall talking to Richie about doing an AT swap with a J32 and he said it'd have to be, I think, an 07 tranny. I cant remember exactly though. I just dont see why an 05+ tranny wouldnt work.

If the biggest issue is wiring, and the OP was willing to deal with that, it's very easy to confirm if a 7GA tranny would work.

I know it's been posted online somewhere as well, either on here or V6P.

Richie would almost most definitely be the man to talk to on that. Him and his "King of Harnesses" :lawl:
