So how about....
(1.) Buying an eBay intake http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/mqtautoparts/97_prelude.jpg

This doesn't require any money spent, just time. Plus, it gives a sleeper look.

The more and more I looked at it, that's what I figured too. I don't have the ability to bake any ceramics.
Wasn't sure if you were referring to the DIY version being awful, or the ebay intake being an awful idea. Lol
