It's leaps and bounds ahead of the 300D I had, I really only got it because of it's better high ISO noise (DiG!C III) and shutter speeds/FPS. Other than than, it's just an SLR.

LiveView is freaking sweet, but that was probably the only time I've ever going to use it.

nice.....
What tamron is that?

Tamron A06 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Aspherical XR LD Di IF w/ 1:2 Macro

I bought it used for like $170 and it's pretty much top of the line for a Tamron zoom (minus stabilization) and takes some beautiful shots. Not tack sharp in all situations, but the AF in the 40D should help with that.

be like it is
that grip looks like a total design afterthought :ugh2:

down the line, im toying with the thought of picking up a 40D just to play with and see what happens. but id need the grip. and a 5D is just a little more...

I'm eyeing the EF-S 10-22 right now, or a Sigma 10-20 or a Zenitar 16mm, but I don't think I'll be getting new glass until after CanAm and if I can score some good POTN/CL deals.

EF-S 10-22 ~$630 used
Sigma 10-20 ~$400 used
Zenitar 16mm ~$180 new

LOL. where's all your telephoto lens! nothing but wide-angles. sucks to be you walking up close to a person to take a picture. :eusa_drool:

edit_actually no, you can get up close to a hot girl. ;]
