this happened to my dads 67 impala ss years ago, like 16 years ago. theres still a little bit of plastic residue on it, but he rarely drives it, talking like 50 miles a year, maybe

Update: tried to pull it off a bit. that mofo is really on there. got a bunch off so it isn't noticeable and just gonna let the rest burn off

Yeah, happened to me before. Just ripped off the excess and let the exhaust do the rest. It'll take quite a while though.
