Cluster will work perfect with Richie's harness. Without his harness your speedo won't work and check engine / D4 light will be on. You don't really need speedo that bad I learned lol. Once you get his harness in it'll work like perfect.

Does the D1 light just stay illuminated all the time now RJ?

With NO harness D1 will blink (it's the same error code you get when your tranny finally dies.. basically the car is going "HEY YOUR TRANNY DIED") With the harness in, all the gear selector lights stay off. I don't even notice that the space is there anymore :)

Just the speedo wont work, not the tach or rest of the gauge cluster. Your gas gauge, temp, tach will all work fine, just the speedometer will stay at zero. Basically you just have to stay with the flow of traffic and you'll be fine. I was so terrified of that at first, but after a couple days I couldn't care less. If you're really scared borrow a GPS from someone haha. Trust me the harness won't be here fast, Richie takes a while to work on them... but they're really critical. I'd say JUST as important at the transmission haha.

Cool. I read somewhere that before you take out old your old tranny, make sure the gear selector is in D1 and not P, and that when the new one is put in, the D1 light just stays on. I'm glad that is not the case though, and that all the indicator lights stay off. Except R, it'd be nice to have that one come on when you put in reverse, but you don't really need it to.

thanks hunter, i guess thats what i'm gonna have to do, just stick with the flow of traffic,

on a side note most of the major parts are founded and in fact my auto is already dropped as of today,,

the annoying thing is the master cylinder, i bought one from the junkyard off a 98-99 accord 5 speed, however the guy doing my swap says that i need one from an 00-02 accord 5 speed..

the problem is when i go to the junkyard they're all telling me that 98-99 and 00-02 are all the same, i really don't want to buy one from the dealership as i already asked it runs around $240

is this true can anybody vouch this? is it really different?

Are you pulling these parts yourself? I wouldn't go to a junkyard where they pull them for you, because you have less of a chance of getting exactly what you're looking for. Find one where you pull your own parts if you haven't already.

As for the master cyl, I'm not sure that they're the same.

update!

so i did a little research and this is what i found

the 98-99 accord models came with "plastic" design for the clutch master cylinders

the 00-02 accords had a revised design and is made from all "aluminum" and the linkage is a bit different

i found online stores that carry brand new ones, but they sell them only by itself, without the hydralic wires and linkages,

so i need to order it and wait for it to come and still continue to look for the linkage and wires

a minor setback i was hoping to have my car running by this weekend but its looking like its not gonna happen, oh well thanks for reading!
