I guess the ugly bushes in my backyard have purple things on them in the spring, haha.

Ugly bokeh from my 18-55 IS (kit lens on newer Rebels).

And my half assed attempt at HDR, which I am terrible at

those almost look like lilac blooms...i have one of those (but 9ft tall and as wide) and a white version the same size out back.

the bokeh isnt too bad in #2 if the flowers that arent in focus didnt decide to grow in the picture

ever considered a macro lens? definitely don't need AF and theres plenty of older lenses from 28 to 200mm to choose from...

I got a Nikon 55mm F/3.5 macro for $35 on ebay, and its fantastic

I do enjoy macro photography. Before I got rid of my Sigma 70-300 APO I
loved to flip it into "macro" mode. It was 1:2 magnification, but it was
definitely fun to play around with. I may have to look into a true macro lens
sometime in the future.

I went to my parent's place for Mother's Day and took some more nature shots.

These were all taken with the 70-200 2.8 and the 1.4x extender (because I
was hoping to see some birds/wildlife, but wasn't so lucky). Aperture is f/4
due to the extender. Bokeh is pretty smooth, but my sharpening doesn't help
it any. I love how it looks at 2.8, but didn't want to bother taking off the
extender.

Took my dog for a walk and decided to bring the camera along with.

Made me realize that serious bird photographers must need REALLY long lenses!
