Help me make a decision

I'm selling my Yukon ('99) to one of the detail kids at work but still need/want a second vehicle for daily purposes plus the outdoor stuff I do (baseball, camping, kayaking, etc).


I have a few options with my budget ($4-5k)


Buy another 6thgen (coupe 5spd), found a few on CL for around $2000-2500

One of my techs just purchased an Outback XT (lifted wrx basically), heated seats, he did a timing belt & water pump on it already, brakes, etc. I know what he paid and has in it. - Completely stock

Another friend has an older 2.5RS sedan - leather (heated) seats, rebuilt motor (by tech that did the XT), fresh fluids, brakes, trans/diff, retrofit, newly painted/fixed quarters.




I have enough extra/spare parts for any of these. Just trying to decide which way to go once I sell my Yukon. Obviously, my tech is leaning me toward the two Subaru's (which makes sense since that's why I bought my first one for its versatility).

I love the 2.5rs's (98-01) so much. I almost bought a sedan myself. For your purposes the outback seems like it will work the best. Good luck with whatever you choose im sure they'll all work great

If it's gonna be an outdoor use, I would go with either one of those Subarus. The outback would be the ideal, considering the stuff you will be putting in the cargo space for your outdoor hobbies.

Those 3 Accords... I would not be fully convinced, if it only says "title: clean", unless I check the VIN. Maybe that can only mean "not salvaged'.

If you already know the ppl who is selling those Subarus, there is already one less thing to be worried imo.

A Scooby beats a Yukon (ugh), if you intend to 'rally' it, sure. But if you intend to avoid 'off-road' situations, then why bother with the ability too?

If you go offroad keep the Yukon or grab the outback.

Also if yes, I would personally get a 2000 + Silverado. those can be had pretty cheap now.

I'd go with the Outback XT if it fits your budget. Sounds like it best meets the criteria.

I'd say outback. I'm personally not a fan of subaru, but out of all those the outback is the best. AWD, nice ground clearance, plenty of cargo space and comfortable. Going to be a good daily and can handle outdoor activities.
