So in this thread I am going to say what I am thinking about doing and I also have some questions and would like some opinions and recommendations on this.... First off I am not only doing this for a cleaner idle or the sound system but I went to an excellent mechanic friend of mine to ask him about how my car goes into limp mode when it is cold and turns off when it warms up some and I turn it off then back on and he said it was a bad ground so instead of just removing the grounds and cleaning them off why not do some upgrades also.... So this is what I was planning to do, I am going to upgrade the negative to chassis ground and the positive to alternator, upon doing this I am thinking about wouldn't it be better also if I remove the current positive wire going from the fusebox to the alternator currently so that the fusebox is always going to be running with out having and power being drawn from there because of the alternator? Getting back on another question, how many chassis to motor grounds are there? Where are they located? In conclusion for everyone confused about my ramble, my plan is to leave the current wires from the positive post of the battery to the fusebox and the starter alone, however I don't know if it would be a good idea to just add another wire to go straight to the alternator and remove the current wire going from the fusebox positive to the alternator so the fusebox has untouched power all the time, and upgrade all of the battery to chassis ground as well as all of the chassis to engine grounds.

How the hell you get senior member that fast when you just joined the forum this year? And how did your knowledge grow overnight?

The three grounds I can think of are from the battery to chassis, battery to trans, and motor to body on the driver side by the motor mount.

I think I would clean them and confirm that is your issue because it seems a little unlikely while it is very possible, I'd confirm the diagnosis before throwing all kinds of money at it.

My car was lemon lawed back in 2003 for a bad tranny and was replaced, while looking over my grounds I saw the ground wire connecting the transmission to the chassis was a decrease in gauge from the chassis to halfway through the wire was like a 8 gauge or something like that and the other half was connected with 14 gauge... The two wires were held by some solder and some electrical tape... I think this was the dealerships half *** work...

Well, I can take pics of my big 3 harnesses if you want and you can try to copy them. My bud Got02Accord made 'em as a gift for me. All high quality stuff.

Does anyone know if I could just remove the current positive power wire from the fuse box to the alternator and just run a straight one from the battery to alternator?

You can but on my car, I just did 0 gauge off the alternator to battery in addition to what was already there.

I have the big 3 grounds on my car. If you want to see how it gets hooked up, feel free to check my MR's thread.
