So in this thread I am going to say what I am thinking about doing and I also have some questions and would like some opinions and recommendations on this.... First off I am not only doing this for a cleaner idle or the sound system but I went to an excellent mechanic friend of mine to ask him about how my car goes into limp mode when it is cold and turns off when it warms up some and I turn it off then back on and he said it was a bad ground so instead of just removing the grounds and cleaning them off why not do some upgrades also.... So this is what I was planning to do, I am going to upgrade the negative to chassis ground and the positive to alternator, upon doing this I am thinking about wouldn't it be better also if I remove the current positive wire going from the fusebox to the alternator currently so that the fusebox is always going to be running with out having and power being drawn from there because of the alternator? Getting back on another question, how many chassis to motor grounds are there? Where are they located? In conclusion for everyone confused about my ramble, my plan is to leave the current wires from the positive post of the battery to the fusebox and the starter alone, however I don't know if it would be a good idea to just add another wire to go straight to the alternator and remove the current wire going from the fusebox positive to the alternator so the fusebox has untouched power all the time, and upgrade all of the battery to chassis ground as well as all of the chassis to engine grounds.
