Neg, Supposidely I was following too close.... I couldnt say anything cause the cop was a ****ing dick.

NOO not a white coupe wrecked!!

glad to hear you're okay. And that is just so ****in gay that you still are somewhat at fault. Sure you shouldn't be that close, but even tailgaters can brake in time if the driver's car in front of them has their brake lights working.

wouldn't that person get a ticket though for no brake lights? if they have a 3rd brake light that is working, that's a different story. the problem i hate is when people who doesn't signal. -_- i signal everywhere. even when i go up the driveway to my house. haha

that's the only place where I DON'T signal. I signal everywhere else. I signal going up the driveway maybe if someone is right behind me or something.

do they have proof tht u were too close? or was it just because u drove a modified import? normally, the person with no brake light would be at fault... i mean, how close were u anyways? :eh:

yeah now that I think about it, what kind of proof do they have that you were driving too close? Were there a bunch of witnesses that all said you were driving too close? Try to look into the laws and stuff and maybe find a way to throw all the blame on the other guy.

yeah, 100% insurance will say you at fault for following too close. in my writing test, one of the question was like, how far should you park between a car in front of you and your car itself. answer is, enough space. and not 1 car length, or whatever it is.

Too bad about the ride, looks pretty bad. Any frame damage?

Also, since you were charged with FTC, you are at fault, they may ding the other driver if anyone bother's to check if they're brake lights worked or not, but insurance will probably treat you as the bad guy(with the help of the police report), and no one may bother to look in to the brake light issue. The fact that you are driving a modified car, probably won't help your cause much either, if there is an issue with that in your area.

Keep us posted though, I'm curious as to whether the brake light issue will be addressed.

There's a reason why they write tickets for having brake lights out, because it is so dangerous. I don't really know what you can do when you have a cop there who's being an *** and not looking at the whole picture. I would contest/appeal the report if there is any way to do that. If there were skidmarks showing that you tried to slow down but didn't have any warning because he had no brake lights I would say it's anywhere from 100% his fault to 60% his fault. If there is no evidence that you tried to slow then I would still call it a 50%/50%. It is very hard to tell when a vehicle is slowing with no lights because our brains get trained to look for that signal.
