I liked the idea as well but personally I wouldn't want cops having a clear view of my license plates from afar :driving:
It's not even that. Modifying lighting, especially one where it's the first place they look, bad idea. I don't know about this one, everyone i know who put cool led's in or the like seem to get pulled over alot for nothing at night. It's not illegal, it's just one of those things.

Where did you get those CCFL's bulb for the license plate

its not a bulb, its a tube, like a neon almost....its just ccfl isnt neon. but you can get them off the internet. i got mine from some site that came up when i googled "white ccfl" under shopping. i got 2 12" tubes, it was in the package, one arrived broken, but luckily i only needed one anyway. its not dark enough yet for me to take a pic, but ill post one later.

heres a couple pics. not the best, but its honestly not that bright. i mean, its a lot brighter then the oem bulb, and it disperses the light better, but its not crazy bright.
