So how much would you guys say he could get an H22 setup for? Long block, tranny and ECU? $2500? $3000?

I'd rather pick up an F23 long block for ~$500, get a stage 2 cam regrind ~$400, and some nice headwork ~$800 with a bored TB and ported IM, ~$175. That plus some spare change for other goodies would put me under $2000, and I'm sure it'd make more power and torque than the H22.

Just my two cents.

VTAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK is addicting. I have to agree that the vtec-e on our accords are way better then the ones on the preludes dohc vtec. On our accords i can feel it pull but not on the preludes.

VTEC-E was only utilized in the Civic ETi, don't confuse it with the F23's VTEC. I'm honestly not sure whether that last post was a joke, or if you are serious.

It is used in our J30A1 as well.

Does your car have a D15Z1 in it?

Does it have a valve cover that looks like this?

You should read what you posted before again.......

http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...315#post299315

Keyword in Red...............

"In a nutshell, the J30A1 engine has a hybrid VTEC-E system that is most similar to a 3-stage VTEC system, but without the 2nd stage. In comparison to the normal performance-oriented VTEC systems or non-VTEC engines where both intake valves are opened at low-RPM, a VTEC-E engine only opens one intake valve at low-revs. See figures below."

Cliffs Notes: The J30A1 does not have vtec-e, but it has components that are similar to it.
