dude, i love my magnaflow catback, it sounds amazing, im thinking of selling it soon tho cause i need some cash

your magnaflow looks sweet...makes me want to get one even more...i HATE the way my stock exhaust looks with the "limp d**k" lookin tip, but i dont want some exhaust where i can stick my head into, your's looks perfect...according to my preferences anyways.

homerjay, i was checkin out your car and why is it that you took off your injen SRI??...if i may ask, cause i've got mine coming in 2 days.
It was just a bit too loud for my tastes. I also bought it before I read about the DIY intake (remove resonator, K&N filter). Although, now that my catalytic converter is rattling, I'm probably making even more noise now. Hopefully, the cat arrives in time for this weekend.

HA!! I couldn't have said it better myself. That's actually what drew me to the Magnaflow...while it does have a larger tip, it's not so large to fit your head (or hand for that matter). Also, the canister and tip are more traditionally shaped than the "coffee can" head-fitting exhaust tips out there.

that's weird, where did you buy it...how much did the muffler shop charge you??

I bought from cardomain, and the muffler shop didn't charge me any extra since it was such a small amount of extra work to do. Literally like <4 inches had to be cut.

The exhaust arrived!!...but still no cat. Since that's the part that's broken, I'm waiting until it arrives so I can do both installs in one day.

Is the red square the end they cut from? This end would face the back of the car. It connects to the end marked with a blue circle. Based on "a few minutes" I am sure hoping so. That sure looks like the easiest cut to make. Otherwise, there would be welding involved.

The tip is pretty large but I think it still looks nice since the cannister is oval:

If the cut is where I think it is, the cannister is probably in the same spot since that part is suspended with three rubber hangers. I figure I'll hang the cannister and then put the other two pieces together just enough to see how much needs to be cut. Of course, this is pure speculation on my part. Cutting any other area would result be much more time consuming (re-welding flanges, etc.). I hope to have mine installed in the next few weeks.
