i just got a 98 accord v6 auto.
it needed both axles replaced because of torn boots. i replaced them both, the wheel bearings had no play, however when driving down the road it makes an awful roaring noise after about 30 mph???? in neutral still does it, turn car off and coast... still does it?
would it be the wheel bearing even though it had no play???
thanks for all your help in advance

It's definitely the wheels, rotors, or brakes, maybe axle but I don't think so! I can tell from the way the noise slows down when you slow down the car.. does it happen if you drive slow? Have a friend walk along side your car to pinpoint the noise when rolling slow.

I hope im not hijacking this thread. Hopefully the op has the same issues, haha.

You can hear it at 5mph. I changed out brakes, rotors, and axle and it's still there. At first i thought it was the tires so i changed those out first. lol i forgot about them. I'll check the rims but i highly doubt it's the rims.

Which side was the sound coming from? (driver seat perspective)

Mine is coming from the driver side. I don't wanna drop my tranny to find that it's not the problem because that'll just cost me a lot more money. Keep in mind that i have a 5-speed tranny so it's not that bad.
