making a toggle switch for a garmin gps??

When the ignition is turned off the screen prompts you to turn off or say on running on its own battery power...if left alone it will auto turn off in 30 sec. so it doesnt run down your battery

No i leave the mount in the car but take the GPS out nightly




Yes you can connect it to any 12v source as long as you do it through the circuit board as i said in the first post i did, it steps down the 12v to the proper voltage that the gps runs off of, if u were to cut the cord frm the cig lighter and just attach the 2 wire to a 12v source it would fry it...

which circuit board are u talking about?? is it safe to connect it to the 12v source that goes into the radio?? anyone got a diagram for the wires around the center consoles???

I don't have a diagram, mine is spliced into the aux power of the cig. lighter...but any 12v source will work. the circuit board i am talking about is the one in the charger for the gps, if u take it apart there is a board inside of the part u plug into the cig. lighter
