That may be the factor then...cloth seats. I've always wanted leatherette seat covers but the iggee ones that Ron has are like $500 so I'm saving up..

I guess I'll have to put up with the shocks until then...

When I had my Accord I used to get shocks, and I had leather seats. Didnt happen all the time, but when I did get them it did freakin hurt. That is when I started touching the side of the car before I pump my gas, and I still do it. I heard that the cell phone causing the fires at gas stations was a myth, and it is actually you getting a shock from your car while pumping your gas.

if you're getting shocked the best thing to do is to put your forearm or elbow on the car, tends to hurt a lot less since there's a fraction of the sensory inputs there in comparison to your fingertips

Wow, I've never even heard of this before. Maybe it is related to the climate, I'm in florida where its never really 'dry' and this has never happened to me. And I've had the Accord since 02

You silly kids. It's just static electricity because of the dry air. I get shocked by my car all the time, but if you were paying attention, you probably get tiny zaps when you touch all sorts of metal objects. It seems highly unlikely that its your car causing you to get shocked.

I get shock whenever I wear my windbreaker pants, and I have cloth seats. My trick is to open the door with your left hand and DONT LET GO until both your feets are on the ground then close the door. Because if you open the door and let go and touch the door again, ZAPPP!!!

heres what you do...before you get out...grab the metal door frame where you get shocked...hold it while you get out....the static electricity still flows from you to the car but not all at once creating a shock...

also it's worse in winter cause your prolly wearing a big coat too...
