I have a 2002 i4 sedan AT. I was wondering if an OEM dual exhaust from a 2004 V6 AT Accord would be able to replace my stock exhaust without any problems. Don't rag on me cuz I don't know anything about exhausts! :ugh:

Also, this is mainly for looks. I'm not looking to gain performance btw.

Re: Newb Exhaust Question.

May have to get the pipes custom fit, I dont think they'd fit directly, and u'd just have to get another hanger put on for the driver's side muffler

I dont think you should do it because I remember reading about if you put on a dual exhaust, the back pressure will be greatly reduced on a 4 cylinder and thats bad

Can you elaborate on what that means exactly? Thanks.

Re: Dual exhaust on an L4?

You can make a dual exhaust work on a 4cylinder, you just need to compinsate for the backpressure loss by using smaller diameter pipes. It won't sound good though..... I thought about a oem dual tsx exhaust, since its coming from a 4cylinder. But I figured that It was not worth it.

Re: Dual exhaust on an L4?

Short answer: No. V6 Exhaust will not bolt up to your I4.

Long Answer:

You CAN do this, but to keep from losing even more torque from your already torqueless 4cyl, you will need to do it with custom piping. The only thing you'll reuse is the mufflers. To compensate you'll need to use smaller piping. The stock exhaust piping is 2.25" if I remember correctly, so if you were to use 2" piping going back, you probably won't lose that much low end torque.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

****.....thats what happens when you start writing a post, then leave to do something else, and come back.....lol
