Its not as hard as it looks, I have done the same thing finch did. If you get confused about where things go, just mark them with tape and number where hoses plug in and stuff.

You can do a throttle body coolant bypass if you live in the warmer half of the united states. Otherwise I would not recommend that. And dont ask me what that is. Just seach lol

Just spraying carb cleaner isn't going to do jack, you would need to empty about 2 bottles to really dissolve it all away without brushing.

So, would putting too much throttle body cleaner cause any harm? I really see this as my only option since I'm not going to take apart the throttle body...

Use throttle body/carb cleaner. It will be safe for sensors. You won't be doing much, since the grime can be so thick and gooey. You might as well not even waste ur time with just spraying a can. But if it floats ur boat, then do it.

It's going to take, taking apart the throttle body to get to that goo and oil. You might want to buy a new tooth brush and use ur old one as a scrubbing tool. My car ran so good, I could not even feel it idle on the steering wheel. And that was before, when I was still an automatic.

Had a similar problem, I finally got around to taking of the IACV and cleaning it really good with two bottles of carb cleaner. The baby runs like a charm now, Idle stays a 660 under any load.
I would start with cleaning the IACV first before doing the whole intake. It's a quick job and it makes a world of difference.

It's a good idea to replace the gasket too

But, if the 6GA community really wants a DIY for it, I will make one. Cost of viewing the DIY = positive rep for me from each person :D

I'd like to see a DIY, it might not be as difficult as I think it is. I'd definitely rep for that!

Could be. Sounds a lot like the IACV is clogged and not letting enough air through when the throttle butterfly is closed.

I need to remove + clean my TB b/c my gas pedal sticks first thing on cold mornings (OK after that). I see these steps at the end of Honda's service bulletin for 2.3L throttle body cleaning - "Adjust the cruise control actuator cable" and "Adjust the throttle cable (refer to shop manual)." Did any of you have to do this after reinstalling the cables?
