whats up guys.. so I feel that a drop for my car is rather unnecessary, and that buying suspension would have me setting myself to already stock height. The thing is, I live in northwest arkansas and there tends to be dirt roads around here. I mean I actually don't encounter THAT many. I actually would love to drop if I didn't live on a dirt/gravel driveway that's like half a mile long. There's 4 houses on this drive but the city doesn't "own" it, so it's our friggin responsibility to keep it flat (which is impossible). The potholes are enough to make a man crazy! I cringe for my alignment every time I come home :madrun:

I also go visit my girl and she lives on a dirt road with a doozy of a drive (its steep). I know this rant seems pointless, but I just am pining for a drop when I can't have one lol. I know it sounds like I should get a more offroad vehicle, but I'm too enamored with my accord to switch. Plus I much prefer cars to trucks or SUVs.

Oh well. Will a set of coilovers give me enough of a different ride feel for me to get them? :ugh2:

It's a night and day difference between stock and a drop.

Is the gravel road thing the only reservation you have about getting a drop? I live in MN and we have some nasty roads and I have some stiff springs... my car drives straight after hitting quite a few nasty potholes.

There isn't just one kind of drop; pairing the right spring with the right shock and you could have a factory feel with a lowered appearance. If you want a curve hugging suspension, you will have to sacrifice the ride quality, which it sounds like you don't want to do.

If you're looking at coilovers, I think most people will agree that the Tein Basics are teh softest ones out there.

if i were you i would leave everything stock...maybe just do some audio stuff to keep you happy taking that your here because you intend to make your car more enjoyable...

there is no real compromise when it comes to a drop...at least if you leave the exterior alone it will seem normal...and not as if you tried...but yet failed to make your car look better...

yeah I'm not too literally worried about my alignment, it's just extra wear I wish I didn't have to put up with :D I really wouldn't mind sacrificing a smooth ride, I just think my passengers would hate me haha. I'd be having a blast though. I've heard good things about teins, so i'll look into them. I'm more worried about scraping alot with a decent drop

scraping only comes with a 2.5 drop or more i think and depends on ur location.

i scrape with s techs and a little weight in the rear :poke:

i agree with Danny, just do some audio or light exterior stuff to give the car fun feel. there is no way you can make a drop functional and comfortable for your situation
