What is this? Some weight ballast or some thing? Does it need to be there? Cause it's 2.5 lbs I'd rather not be carrying. Thanks

its an engine vibration keeper downer.....offcial honda name


it just keeps the ride comfortable

lol... i was just wondering the same thing... I thought it may have something to do with the V6 or auto tranny since it's right next to the front mount...

But what I'm wondering is, will it affect anything (if removed) like bolt's loosening up or something like that? I can see it now, the one part on my car that's been minding it's own business for the last 140K... I take it off, and 20 miles later wondering what the f*** is wrong with my car now? And have to blame it on that stupid piece of rubber I should have just left alone.
