Good. I plan on revving the **** outta this thing, well for an F23 anyways. Its sure to see 7500 rpm on a daily basis. I'm hoping that having a built and balanced bottom end will enable some decent longevity.....this engine wasn't exactly designed for high RPM. Am I completely crazy? I'm sending my crank out to be balanced and micro polished by Laksey/Benson and then when it arrives I'll have it all balanced together and assembled. I'm not sure what clearances to run etc so any help would be much appreciated.

Crazy? meh, it just depends how long you want your engine to last. Even if you have the engine built ported, polished, built bottom end / head blah blah redlining and/ or very high RPM driving quite abit through out the day will end up destroying the longevity of your engine. If I were you I would try and not do that lol. I went through a couple "built" engines with my 2nd gen Eclipse from high reving, aggressive driving, tracking etc.

I'm not talking about abusing or tracking the car. I just mean a couple hard charges on the way to work daily, freeway on-ramps, back roads etc. I don't think 7500rpm should be too detrimental to a well balanced and forged rebuild of an engine that redlined at 6250 in stock form. Then again, this is just my fuzzy logic..... We'll see what happens.....

Should be fine if the engine is built well.

I think you'll be fine with stock tolerances and torque specs. Just make sure you don't miss anything!

good luck with the build.

i hate to ask, but why spend so much money only to get ~200whp when you can make so much more power off a boosted application (and save some money in the process).

We're just high rollers trying to make a statement. Go figure. lol

Well, I'll agree - i'm seeing a lot of F23 boosted making a lot of power... we're on the dark side. :Starwars: LOL

MY BOTTOM LINE: Brag rights - highest whp NA F23 SOHC FTW! :eusa_doh:
