Hello all! Awesome community here. Sorry for starting a thread that is probably covered somewhere but after 2 hours of searching and reading I can't come up with a straight answer.

How many bulbs of each type will I need for the V6 gauge cluster LED swap? Including the odometer. I plan on ordering from superbrightleds.com as recommended by so many here. They have several different bulb types for the 194, which is the best? Also I will probably get ledautomotive's solderless hvac instrument panel kit. Has anyone compared LED colors from these sources? I'm concerned about them matching. I'm going red if it matters.

Thanks in advance!

You didn't look too hard then. I used 3 194's and 2 74's for the cluster alone. But there are two types of gauge clusters, you should look at the back of yours and see which one/ how many of each you will need.

the cluster takes 3 194's and 1 74 type for the odo and 1 for the water temp gauge. also, if you want to do the 2 lights above the gauges that shine down onto them, those are 2 more 74 types. those are the ones ive dealt with, which have all been i4 gauges, idk if the v6 ones are different, but the guy above says theres different ones haha, so idk, probably are. definitely look at yours before you order.

when i did the 74 type led's, i did trim the bases that they plug into, because after i had put the led 74's into their sockets, it spread them a little, so they didnt fit directly into the hole. i just grabbed a knife and carved little bits off around the part that goes through and secures the piece to the circuit board. it all works fine.

I did look quite a bit but could only find how many LED's for the i4. I read that the V6 cluster has more LED's but couldn't determine how many.

To clarify, do you have the V6? Are you saying that there are 2 different gauges for it? I was just hoping I could get this figured out and place an order today without taking out my gauges first

Andy(sketch05) is right about the numbers of bulbs but he didnt add one extra 194 bulb for the gas needle. so u got a total of 5 194s and 3(three) 74s,one for odo and two for the top of the cluster. i got a v6 and i did the mod so i know
