One missing stud automatically weakens the rest of the bolts next to it, which will cause the rest of the bolts to ALSO break or come lose in the long run.

If I were you I would go back and tell them to fix it since it was their fault, besides.. leaky exhausts blow lol.

my gaskets leak and i have leaks from broken welds ... my car sounds like a vw bug ... it's quite embarrassing

I had one stud broke for 3 years now and no issues.

Exhaust leaks after the first o2 sensor shouldn't have any adverse affects. Leaks before the primary o2 sensor will cause irregular conditions since the o2 sensor is not getting a proper reading for closed loop. So at idle and partial throttle (cruising) the car might run a little rich or lean depending on what the primary o2 sensor is reading due to some airflow escaping. I believe anything above 20 percent throttle is then ran by the tps and fuel and timing maps in the ecu.

The shop should never have let the car leave with a broken exhaust mani stud. Its so simple to replace, it makes you wonder what other things that shop might cheap out on.

Oh and broken studs will cause leaks which will also cause additional heat to be transfered to the head instead of flowing through the manifold. And the studs aren't on the block they're on the head.
