I disconnected the negative terminal for 15 minutes and plugged it back in. It came back on. Does that count?

NO. you have to clear it with a scan tool. and if you're not sure about getting the right sensor, bring your VIN to the honda dealership, give it to the parts guy, and he'll order you the right one. its that simple.

wait....really. i thought disconnecting the battery or pulling the ECU fuse would reset any codes that throw a CEL.

that doesn't work all the time... if you clear it with the machine then thats a little more accurate

usually when a CEL resets, it stays off for about 50 miles before it comes on again because you have to drive a while so the computer relearns everything. the only way it comes on right away is if you have some major damage or something unplugged

So it is a ULEV VTEC. Thanks to all who helped. I was pretty blind to have missed this the first time I looked, of course I wasn't looking for it there.

whats the deal with that intake?

corona = win

It was on the car when I got it. There are two filters, one behind an opening in the bumper (for colder air I guess?) and one on top. I *think* the idea is that if the bottom one gets wet or the car goes through a puddle of water, it won't get sucked into the engine.

The guy did some seriously questionable stuff to this car. The exhaust was...well...this guy (or whoever did the exhaust for him) should be on a sex offenders list somewhere. Molestation.
