Whereas with a CAI, the risk of hydrolock, the increased amount of road debris, having to take off the bumper/fender liner to access the filter isn't worth the slight increase in hp you'll get from "cooler" air.

don't forget about the sound difference, because don't you dare say there isn't one.

:hide:

and really when do you ever need to access your filter?

I've pulled open my front bumper so many times and for three years I've only had to basically shake off what was on it or rinse it in the sink maybe once a year. It's hardly a struggle.

also hydrolocking is a pussy's excuse for not buying one, I mean if you're driving through a foot deep puddle you're an idiot to begin with, but regular rain or even heavy rain aren't going to do jack ****.

like...what horror stories have you been reading about CAI? :lawl:

we're not getting much power from either, so CAI is superior in my mind simply for the added pleasure of noise it creates over a SRI, cause why not.

Coilovers
Exhaust
Tie rods
New intake
paint done

I'd rather just part out / sell the car and buy something more recent (7th gen perhaps) if I was to get a loan.

That being said...

If you're gonna drive the car till it "blows up" I wouldn't spend money on mods that I might get tired of in a few months (TYCs, grilles, full LED swap etc)

Save money to perhaps get a full lip kit of your choosing as well.

If your car is mostly rust free and the paint is in decent shape(swirls, small scratches killing the look of it), look into spending ~$200-300 for a full-out, proper exterior detail job.

you have nice mod list going but you should look into adding a full lip kit and maybe tint to your list.

Just my $0.02, if this were my car, before anything else i'd focus on getting her slammed and lip kitted all around. I wouldn't bother with the LED's, aftermarket shifter/handbrake. i think the scene has moved on from that type of modding. If you do mod your upper and lower grill, pls don't get the ebay mesh cover thing. Those things are effin' hideous!

yeah i forgot to add that i was going to at least get a front lip. i want type r :D as for the grill... http://www.grillcraft.com/applications/2002_Honda_Accord_2_Door.aspx/1|6/163/

hahah, good reasons to why YOU own a CAI. I have my reasons not to. :p The CAI vs SRI topic has been debated to death over the net, the differences are minuscule and it all comes down to personal preference. I'm not here to debate, i was just giving emii my 2¢ on the matter. :) Just fiy, i have a CT icebox, it's sort of a hybrid of both but i consider it a SRI because of the filter location.

hahaha, type r ftw. That's exactly the grill i'm talking about, it's hideous! lol :hide:

i'd consider it, i mean i'd change my paint if i didn't necessarily like black, but if i didn't have the funds for it... wouldn't do it unless it was an absolute necessity

its tough to spend $2000+ on a good paint job just because I didn't like the previous colour

because u are taking out a loan for it, id advise you to be smarter in spending it...especially because this would eat up most of the money that you're getting

well i got in a fender bender few months back and i know the paint shop, so they said they would repaint the entire car no matter what, just to get it all to match. i already paid the deductible for my insurance company, so all i gotta do is spend a tiny bit more to the shop
