I didn't use anything other than the standard controls. If my memory serves me, the green\red stripe wire in the harness is the wire which controls the factory head unit. The wheel control buttons are simply 2 wires, one which is ground and the other leads to the green/red stripe wire. However when a button is pressed, a different resistance value is sent out to the head unit. Took the faceplate off the new head unit and metered out the resistance of when the head units volume was turned up and down and simply switched out the resistors on the back of the wheel control to match the head unit and tada!......![]()
That's exactly the info I was looking for, as that definitely saved me some metering time. This is definitely worth a DIY both with/without using the PAC (what I mean by this is adding the controls to a car without any steering wheel harness like my EX 4cyl coupe). Thanks again for the info....
