He was hit in the back, and the hit the car in front of him so it got totalled. Also why did you take off all the parts? To sell them or use them for another 6th gen?

that sucks man...sad to see it go out like that....what you planning next?

Was planning on buying a 2010 WRX this spring, but now that I'm going to spend $5k on tools, I'll have to hold off on that idea for a while.

I missed something, why'd you scrap it?

he was rear ended. totaled. parting it out

me too, last I knew he was still unsure if he'd even be able to get parts back let alone scrapping the whole thing haha

Yup. It took a while to deal with insurance since I wanted more money, got state laws involved, etc. I ended up getting them to give me more money because I had just had a shop install my new, rebuilt transmission. Needless to say, I bought the car back for ~$700 and pocketed a little under $5k. The plan was to put $15k down on the WRX, but I'll probably have to wait until the end of summer or so to go through with it.

Also why did you take off all the parts? To sell them or use them for another 6th gen?

One way or the other, they'll be used again. A few of the parts were brand new and I'd much rather see myself or someone else enjoying the parts than them just getting scrapped.

nice, a wrx, sedan or hatch? im getting the 2011 hatch and i can't wait. should be coming in september:peace:

I was thinking hatch, I could use the extra room. Why a 2011? Hopefully not brand new, you'd be an idiot to drive off the lot and watch 20% of the value gone the moment it hits a public road.

Everything is up in the air for now though, I might be getting another 6ga shortly if this deal goes through, but only if I can get it super cheap, otherwise I'll just keep puttering along in this homo Pontiac. As far as I'm concerned, the tools need to be bought at some point before May and the tools will make me money, not spend it.

yes brand new. 2011 has wide body for the wrx. looks exactly like an STi so the wrx gets the wide body and the wider wheels to fill that. i pre-ordered the 2010 wrx but manufacturing already stopped and they pushed my order to a 2011. im happy with it, i really don't care about depreciation since im going to keep that car for life.

The accord...bought brand new in 2000. i still have her running like new with 94k miles. garaged all day everyday. i treat my cars well and im sure the wrx will last for a long time. if anything the accord will go first and i can get another beater.

How far away from the ground was your K-frame (subframe) at this height?
