If he were to do the j32 or 35 swap and put a turbo on after that he would have a great setup right? He would have the low end power of the new engine and when he got to higher rpm he would have boost.

It's not about the compression with the j30a1 its about the crappy cast internals and head flow. J32s and beyond come with forged internals which of course increases ability to hold power more reliably. I've been trying to run a top mount m90 SC setup but the j30 can't take it. So 3.2/5 swap will be first. Comptech makes a reliable SC kit for the j30. I'd go over to v6performance.net and check out all the forced induced members build setups. That's where I go for my forced induced / swap needs

i was pondering the h22 swap but i dont want to get rid of the v6. im for sure keeping the j30! i was also looking into the j32 swap but that may be to involved for me right now. im eventually going to do the 6sp swap but i just got a bilt tranny put back in it about a year ago so ill probably hold off on the tranny swap for now and do the supercharger. besides this is my only car right now so it a daily driver and a turbo is way to much maintaince to be a daily driver. also the the engine has alot of miles on it and it probably wont last much long so im probably just going to rebuild for the supercharger set up. im some what new to engine internals so any suggestions where to start with the j30 SC set up?
again thanks for all the input guys.

keep your engine in car buy a j32 and build it or save up to put it in, why rebuild it when everyone already told you the problems. and your tranny will crap out regardless with the xtra hp, i think you need to search

the j32 do not have forged internals, they are cast just like the j30. hell, not even all j35's are forged.

O my bad. I guess I misunderstood what Paul from v6p.net was saying to me about the setup I'm going to run. My opinion still stands on swapping a 3.5 with forged internals.

There's a few companies if I remember correctly that make pistons and rods etc for our cars. Search around

sa'll good bro. just dont believe everything you read on v6p, i'm putting together the motor myself, and a LOT of the information on there is wrong. everything makes sense online, but when you actually have the parts in front of you, its completely different.

aka 05 RL pistons = not forged. i asked the question on there, and never received a concrete answer so i bit the bullet, dropped $500 on RL pistons / rings... and the pistons sure look cast to me. however, if they are forged, it is one helluva ugly forge process honda / acura uses... im still going to run them because they bump compression. a lot of people are paying money to have their motors built, but they dont know wtf they are actually getting. just be careful, dont believe everything you read.

First of all a properly sized turbo is way better than a supercharger imo. If you do your homework you can minimize turbo lag and basically decide where you want your power. with a turbo you have the flexibility of changing boost to almost anything depending on your goals and supporting mods. Turbo sounds and feels 10 times better than a supercharger. It might take a little research to build your own kit but I think its worth it and probably close to the same price as the supercharger.

With that said I would do the 6 speed tranny first and then boost. With a good tune your j30 can handle a good amount of boost you dont need forged internals.
