so I saw the turbo kit for it and it says at 8psi it gains 56% hp. So I am just gonna go that route. At 8psi is it still a good dd?

Well I didnt ask anything about the hp gain, I was just wondering the engine on these cars was strong enough to be a daily driver at 8psi. Also, do the problems that plague the transmissions on these cars only on the auto?

if thats what you meant then yes, 8psi is fine for a dd if you don't mind having however much hp you want to be making at 8psi as your dd.

the auto transmissions are the crap, the manuals are rock solid, there's a defect in the auto tranny that is not in the manual.

also, some of the bulbs in the dash and behind the clock have a tendency to go out, common upgrade is the LED hardwiring, time consuming but isnt hard... just FYI, nothing major otherwise!

i have a autotragic, still no slip on original trans with nearly 126k miles and if your driving sensibly (go for the mpg's is my goal) the problems will take a LONG time to show up, and with the turbo build like your suggesting, i would say go ahead and upgrade the clutch as precaution and add a LSD while your down there for good measure. just common things i see and took note of ^_^

Actually, my 92 still has all its original bulbs haha. But from what everyone says the 01-02 4cyl manual sounds like the winner. So any one near Texas ready to get rid of theres yet?
