Rotating Tires

[98 SMR AV6]

So today I rotated my front left tire to back left and front right tire to back right. After rotating them, while driving on the road my steering wheel is completely straight but my car ends up turning to the left a bit. I never experienced this problem before until after i rotated my tires. What could be the problem? Did i rotate them wrong, am i suppose to rotate them diagonally instead?

Is this the first time you've rotated these tires?

more importantly, what tires r u running.... all-season tires use the rules in the 2nd post, but directional (mostly performance) tires don't.. u basically switch the front with the rear, and keep them on the same side

Yeah, I realized my tires were wearing out quick so i decided to rotate them.

I'm running all seasonal tires. I switched them from front to rears and now my car doesn't drive straight when my steering wheel is straightened out.

Sounds your your rear wheels/tires weren't balanced and now that your on the front, your starting to notice it through the steering wheel. Plus, that would explain the faster wear on the tires that you noticed earlier. I would go get them balanced asap as it sounds as though your driving in a pretty dangerous situation.

Yeah, I realized my tires were wearing out quick so i decided to rotate them.

air them up properly, then get an alignment. rotating them won't stop them from wearing quickly.


There's an underlying problem that you just haven't noticed until now.
