DIY: Custom Trunk

Found this when I was searching for a new Trunk Board. Now i'm thinking about doing this aswell.

Even though these are for EM2's, I think it will still be the same way for our CG's.

I really like the way he did that but to make it better i would drill some holes and hide the wires for a cleaner look.

but yeah, you could do the same thing for the 6thgen. I seen a v6p member guy, Travis, do it in his 6th gen 4 banger down in Atlanta. He used felt covering and it was simple clean.

For the sake of cleanness.. I think I would have either used hinges on the underside, or flush mount those and cover with carper rather than the top, and just cut a handle out rather than attach one.

anyone thinking of doing this, dont use MDF and definitely don't use particle board...horrible advice. not only are they both incredibly heavy, they soak up water like a sponge and will warp.

birch plywood ftw even though its expensive (you can get away with 7 layer home depot stuff).

use a piano hinge (wtf was in that diy? shed door hinges? ) and dont bother with an external handle since the 6th gens have the little recess in the plastic trim in the rear of the trunk.

yeah, i have a birch ply floor need to get new amps, relocate them, then finish it. then pics, maybe

I did this in my CRX back in the day and it definitely works good. But take RyRy's advice and use the Birch Ply.
