shocks = struts

Many refer to shocks when they might mean struts...some even say strut when they mean shock and vice versa. However they aren't really the same thing...

Shocks: Only used for compression/rebound damping.

Struts: Used as a suspension-locating component, i.e. carry part of the load of the suspension and serve as a structural member of the suspension, not just for damping.

OP, depending how low you're willing to go look into..

Dampers: Tokico Blue, Koni SRT.T, Tokico Illumina, KYB AGX Koni Yellow
Springs: H&R, Eibach, Neuspeed, Tein (each have different rate springs for different amounts of ride height)

Coilovers: Tein Basis, Tein SS, FF1, FF2, FF2.5, KW Variant, Megan Street, Ksport etc
Swaybar: TLS RSB(Best Bang for Buck), Eibach, Progress, ST, Neuspeed, Addco, Comptech
It all depends how low you'd want to go and what your budget is.

^Yeah, but for OP's current understanding of suspension, I wasn't about to go into those specifics.

shocks = struts

Chris, I was going to say... lol but saw that you didn't want to go into specifics.

Like 001Stunna stated, Shocks use springs to help rebound while Struts are standalone. Springs are mounted separate to the body.

Accords have shocks. Usually German cars have Shock/Strut combo.

Im lowered on koni yellows with Ksport GT springs (something like 2.5"F 2.75"R or vice versa) they are listed as V6 springs i drive an I4 fits fine. I like the drop but for the the price paid i could have gotten FF type1 for maybe the same or a little less and been able to change the ride height to just about anything summer/winter wise. Id say full coilovers are the way to go.
