And to close the trunk you have to guide it shut cause if not it will slam down hard like I said before all comes down to the shock you have.

I think this be pretty good for the carbon fiber trunk ppl. I heard the carbon fiber trunk would swing open pretty hard if you still had the tension bars in.

i think if you give the rod more leverage it would work alot better make the tab you made off of the trunk hinge longer and it should give it more leverage... i think.. haha but i think it will work real good with the torsion bars still in im gonna stop off at a discount auto parts store and see if i can pick up a strut and mounting tabs soon! i really wanna do this! lol

No problem guys, if anyone does this with the oem bars still on keep us updated. I would like to see hoe that would come out.

im gonna do it as soon as i get some cash thats in the mail! =] how much were the mounting tabs at auto zone? and the strut was like 20? might you happen to have the part number aswell?

Mounting tab I have a friend that works at a metal company and he had cut me the piece of metal. The shock was about 15 to 20 bucks max the part number of the shock is " C 95223 ". Make sure you have a good bit and a good drill and some muscle.:chucklesfawk:

awesome bro! gonna try this soon REAL soon haha i have a scrap piece of 1/4 inch aluminum diamond plate im gonna use for the bracket and i think im going to go under the deck lid an not down to the bade of the trunk and i have good drill bits =] just gotta find those damn mounting screws with the ball on them..

Yeah the deck has some pre-made holes you can use once you take the long panel behind the seat you'll see them. The mounting screw I borrowed them from another set of shocks :skurred:

I foun that autozone sells a pair for 3 bucks haha wont break the bank :)
