Costa, I prolly wouldnt overclock it for the simple factor of heat. I don't like windows 8 either... I agree a flavor of linux would be a lot easier or android... and it might be a pain during initial setup but after that it will be a breeze. btw can you post a parts list with links
I guess it just depends what side of the pond you sit on. Im not a linux fan, so my opinion is entirely biased plus centrafuse doesnt run on linux. plus the difficulties i had with the driver it just wasnt in the cards for me. uhm i can give you all the part numbers besides the monitar but a real helpful place would be mp3car.com you can get everything on that one site. check out there videos and do the research.

Everything Else is really unimportant. If your capable of installing a car pc the rest should be pretty easy to piece together. Some thing to think about:
1. When you pick your monitor make sure You get a good contrast ratio and bright screen. dont want to put it all in a not see the screen in the sun.
2. How will you make sure the pc turns off safely. (check out the pico power supplies)
3. mounting locations? somewhere cool, out of the way.
4.pushing buttons with a touchscreen will be more difficult then you think when using windows or linux your going to need a mouse if you dont plan to use an overlay.
5. if you dont already have an amplifer how are you going to play it through the speakers?
